The Illinois Tutoring Initiative is hiring tutors from across the state to support students in Grades 3-8 in literacy and math (in-person) and high school math (online starting in fall 2022).
Qualified tutors include:
- Current teachers
- Retired teachers
- Teacher education candidates
- Higher education students
- Community members (must have high school diploma or equivalent)
Tutors must be willing to meet with students for three sessions per week for eight to 14 weeks. Tutors receive training that will allow them to plan for student success, track progress, and align their work with district curriculum. They also will have access to resources that support targeted student learning. Tutors are paid an hourly rate of $50/hour.
