Q. How do I submit a request for a loan?
A. One of
the most convenient ways to request materials is to visit
our online catalog at www.kidseatwell.org and
click on Nutrition Loan Library. This will bring you to
our online catalog where you can look for items in many
different categories. You may check out items by submitting
a request to the library. You can also request items by
phone at 1-800-545-7892 or by email at cnp@isbe.net. Please
include the following information: name of the school/child
care center/institution, name of the borrower, address
where items are to be shipped, phone number, email address
(if you have one), and name(s) and call number(s) of the
item(s) you wish to borrow.
Q. Is there a limit to the number of items I can request
and how long can items be checked out?
A. You are able
to check out five items at a time and the loan period is
two weeks.
Q. Is there any cost to borrow items from the library?
A. We take care of the cost of shipping the items to you.
However, you will have to pay for the return shipment of
the items back to the loan library via United Parcel
Service (UPS) and insure the items for the amount they are
worth,
which will be provided to you. There is one exception—the
Body Walk trunks will be sent with a prepaid return shipment
label because of the high cost of shipping this item.
Q. Do you have materials available in other languages?
A. Yes, we have several loan library items available in Spanish
including video tapes, educational materials, and games.
