Foreign Language Classroom Assessments Aligned to the Illinois Learning Standards
The assessments are coded according to standard and stage.Example: 28A.E is aligned to standard 28A, stage E (fifth year of foreign language study). Sample student work, when available, follows the assessment.
Describe the action of a story.
Interact with a partner to make arrangements for a social engagement.
After choosing a series of prepared cards, the students will read cards one at a time and perform the instructions written on the card.
Students will present a 2-3 minute version of a newscast to include news, current events, weather and sports.
Demonstrate understanding of customs in the target language society.
Using a visual or audio aid, students will prepare and present orally a five to seven minute report on an important artist.
After listening to an audio selection or watching a video commercial promoting a product or an event students will write their version of the original presentation.
Make an oral presentation in the target language.
Describe geographical features of an area where the target language is spoken.
Students will use a train schedule to complete a 10-question comprehension and application quiz.
Prepare a career scrapbook with pictures and descriptions of careers.
