Diverse Educator Recruitment

The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) requests information on approaches for the recruitment of a diverse teaching corps.  In order to do this work well, there should be a coordinated effort to cultivate a pipeline of diverse, academically talented educators spanning from student to teacher to instructional leader.

The purpose of this RFI is to identify existing initiatives across Illinois and the nation in order to learn about approaches that identify and support the development of a pipeline of diverse, academically talented educators through a coordinated effort spanning from the identification of interested middle school-aged children through preparation and licensure.  The RFI will assist state officials in ascertaining the interest in and gain the knowledge of the development of a potential future procurement.
