The electronic Grants Management System was developed in FY 2005 with the primary goal of reducing grant preparation time for local education agencies, improve data quality and communications, standardize ISBE grant applications, and improve efficiency of the grant review and approval. The first application created in the eGMS was the NCLB Consolidated application. Other grant programs developed to date are indicated below.

Local education agencies must use ISBEs Web Application Security System (IWAS) to access eGMS and submit the eGMS applications via the Internet.

eGMS through IWAS 
Please make sure that you have your approval groups properly assigned through IWAS in order to access eGMS and submit your applications. eGMS will significantly reduce grant preparation time for local education agencies, improve data quality and communications, standardize ISBE grant applications, and improve efficiency of the grant review and approval process.
