Steven R. Gilford
Board Vice Chair
Steven R. Gilford of Evanston is a senior partner in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department, co-head of the Insurance Recovery and Counseling Group, and head of the Chicago office of Proskauer Rose. He served as a member of Evanston Township District 202 School Board from 1993 to 2005, including a term as president from 1996 to 1998.
Mr. Gilford also has been the director of the McGaw YMCA in Evanston since 2005, the director of Metropolitan Family Services and a board member of the Metropolitan Family Services Legal Aide Bureau.
He earned his Bachelor of Arts in government from Dartmouth College and a Master of Arts in public policy and law degree from Duke University.
In addition to serving as State Board Vice Chair, Mr. Gilford is Chairman of the Board Operations Committee. Steven Gilford was appointed to the Illinois State Board of Education in December 2009 by Gov. Pat Quinn and his current term will expire in January 2017.
