Program Budget & Amendments
Budget amendments are required throughout the year whenever
a line item amount changes by either 20% or $1,000, whichever
is greater. School district must complete the appropriate
budget amendment form below and submit it to Division of
English Language Learning for approval. The form must be
received in our office no later than the following dates:
For State TBE/TPI grants:

For Federal Title III Grants* Upward Amendments
LIPLEPS — July 31, 2008
IEP — July 31, 2008
Federal Title III --In most cases, the school district’s
initial LIPLEPS and initial IEP approved budget amounts
are less than the current funds available for these grants
(the
amount that appears under Current Funds on the upper right
hand corner of the approved budget). The district must
submit an upward budget amendment for LIPLEPS and/or IEP.
Districts
are encouraged to submit budgets in the full amount of
the available funds.
In addition, if the district had a LIPLEPS and/or IEP
program in FY07, it should submit the FY08 upward budget amendment(s)
only after the district has submitted its final expenditure
report(s) for FY07. The district must then incorporate into
the upward amendment(s) all LIPLEPS and/or IEP FY07 carryover
funds available to the district. The carryover funds should
include both funds identified as carryover and prepaid on
FRIS Inquiry at www.isbe.net/funding
