ISBE DELL e-Broadcast 2009.169 – “Perfect Match” Workshop Series Announcement

The Illinois Resource Center (IRC) is happy to offer a shift in the way we deliver technical assistance in the area of program design/development/improvement. A six session/day workshop series entitled A Perfect Match: Using Data and Standards to Drive Program Design is intended to provide sustained professional development to teams of teachers and administrators interested in participating in a process to improve their district’s language education programs for English language learners.

The series pairs IRC specialists with World Class Instructional Design and Assessment (WIDA) Consortium experts from the University of Wisconsin at Madison to provide team participants with engaging opportunities and dynamic tools for data mining, data analysis; a structured framework for applying the gathered data and resulting interpretation to craft an exemplary program design for ELLs and a process for addressing curricular and instructional implications of the resulting exemplary program design.

Upcoming workshop session dates are October 7 & 8, 2009, December 1 & 2, 2009 and February 24 & 25, 2010. Please see our web page at for more detailed information about the workshop series, registration information (including the registration form), and location.
