1% Alternate Assessment and the Common Core Survey and Information
The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) has created a survey for you to provide your feedback on which alternate assessment consortia would best fit Illinois’ needs.
This will be your only opportunity to provide feedback on which alternate assessment consortia would best fit Illinois’ needs. ISBE will take the feedback submitted in the survey to make decisions regarding the 1% Alternate Assessment aligned to the Common Core.
Feedback is requested no later than Monday, October 8th at 11:59 p.m.

The webinar, hosted by Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO), provides an overview of the two 1% percent assessment consortia, Dynamic Learning Maps (DLM) and the National Center and State Collaborative (NCSC) Partnership. These new alternate assessments that serve students with the most significant cognitive disabilities will be aligned to the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) and are expected to fit cohesively within the comprehensive assessment systems under development by the federal grant recipients: the Partnership for Assessment Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) and the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium. Both DLM and NCSC are to be ready for use by the 2014-15 school year, the same year in which the comprehensive assessment systems will be operational.
