Survey of ELL Assessment Accommodations
ISBE invites ELL providers to participate in The 2008 ELL Accommodations Web Survey. Its purpose is to gather data reflecting your experience giving ISAT/PSAE to ELL students in 2008 using the state-approved ELL Accommodations. The results will help ISBE provide improved assessment experiences for this population. This survey may be accessed at
Part One is for test administrators and proctors who administered ISAT or PSAE to ELL students that received, one or more, state-approved ELL accommodations. Please base your responses on students who received only ELL accommodations, not ELLs who were also given other kinds of accommodations (i.e., IEP or 504).
Part One is relatively brief with predominantly numerical rating kinds of questions.
Part Two asks you to write your comments, concerns, and suggestions; therefore it may require more time. In addition to those who completed Part One, district or school staff substantially involved in ELL service delivery and state assessment may choose to complete this section.
It’s not required to respond to every question on either Part One or Part Two.
The survey will be active through June 6th.
Thank you for participating.
[Side Note: This summer, the state may need assistance from certified teachers who have taught ELLs. They may review test items for cultural bias and language accessibility. Dates have not yet been set, but if you would like to be considered for this work, please send an email with your summertime contact information to firstname.lastname@example.org.]
