Agency staff from the Illinois State Board of Education provide an overview of the Education Jobs Fund program which was recently passed by Congress and signed by the President. Topics covered include how districts will be able to access funding, reporting requirements and spending options. A question and answer session is part of the program.
This webinar focuses on the application process, specifics of completing each page of the application, fiscal guidance and program assistance. Staff from the Divisions of Innovation and Improvement and Funding and Disbursements lead the discussions.
Provides procedures for reporting ARRA jobs and vendor data in ISBE’s new collection system in IWAS. Revised jobs guidance issued in December 2009 by the Federal Office of Management and Budget is explained along with instructions on how to enter new or amended jobs data as appropriate. Question and Answer Session.
Provides information on the application process for Title I, Part A waivers. The waivers included in the ARRA-NCLB Consolidated Application deal with aspects of ARRA funding, such as waivers to permit an LEA to exclude ARRA funds when making certain fiscal and “set-aside” calculations and waivers of two Title I regulatory provisions related to the implementation of public school choice and supplemental educational services (SES). The carry-over wavier is not being processed through the application but is also be discussed.
This webinar discussed various aspects of ARRA/IDEA funds as they relate to the new construction request form. There was also a live Q&A session to try and address any issues or questions that might relate to the discussion.

Staff of the Illinois State Board of Education provided a webinar presentation on several accounting and auditing issues schools need to consider as they receive funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. Included was a discussion of changes to the Illinois Program Accounting Manual and A-133 Single Audits. It is expected approximately 200 districts will have to undertake an A-133 audit for the first time this year due to increased federal funding being received under the stimulus.
