The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) announced today that 15 outstanding sophomores, juniors and seniors from across Illinois have been selected to represent their peers on the ISBE Student Advisory Council for 2007-2008. The new council came together and began in their new roles during this week's September State Board meeting.

SAC met during State Board of Education's November meetings in Springfield
Anna Bittman of New Trier High School and Michael Byerley of Lemont High School will serve as co-chairs for the 2006-2007 Student Advisory Council (SAC) to the Illinois State Board of Education. The two seniors were elected by the 2006-2007 members at the SAC's November meeting held in Springfield.

As more than 2.1 million students statewide get back into the swing of things for the 2006-07 school year, Governor Rod R. Blagojevich and State Superintendent Randy Dunn today announced that 15 outstanding sophomores, juniors and seniors from across Illinois have been selected to represent their peers on the Illinois State Board of Education's (ISBE) Student Advisory Council.
